Discharge following the procedure

After your procedure, you must be accompanied home by a responsible adult.

YOU CANNOT DRIVE OR LEAVE THE HOSPITAL ON YOUR OWN.

When you are discharged, you will be advised of appropriate post surgery care and any needed followup appointments.

Following discharge and until the next day you should not:

• Drive a vehicle
• Operate machinery
• Take responsibility for young children
• Conduct business
• Sign important documents
• Drink Alcohol

Results

The gastroenterologist will see you after your procedure, just prior to your discharge and advise you of your result. You will be given a written report of your result. They will also advise you if any Pathology has been taken.

You will also be advised of any follow up that may be necessary, whether this is with the specialist or your general practitioner.
